Upcoming Social Committee Events

• Friday, February 10 to Sunday, February 12, 2012 – The Escape Weekend. Do you need a break from various Board Initiatives? Writing Report Cards? Then you need to relax, refresh and regenerate at ETFO-YR Escape Weekend being held this year at the Kingbridge Conference Centre near King City. Members will be treated to live entertainment, delicious meals, a large variety of workshops, free on-site services, and so much more. Space is limited, so get your applications and money in ASAP. Past Events

• On Friday, October 28, our local held its first social event of the year, the Hallowe'en Bingo Bowl, at Stellar Lanes in Newmarket. 24 teams participated in an evening of fun, team-building, and good sportsmanship. The Social Committee would like to thank the following teams for their skill on the lanes: Mount Joy PS, Maple Leaf PS, Morning Glory PS, Whitchurch Highlands PS, and Clearmeadow PS.
  
  
• Monday, November 21, 2011 – We joined celebrity baker Buddy Valastro for an evening of cakes, stories and family fun. In this rare live, interactive event, TLC’s “Cake Boss” shared the stories behind his hit series and his colourful Italian family, answered audience questions, and gave live demonstrations of his baking techniques.
  
  
• Thursday, November 24 to Sunday, December 4 – OneOfAKind Christmas Show and Sale. This exciting sale and show featured many festive treats for the holiday season. Fashion shows and seminars were presented on the main stage. Many visited the One of A Kind Hall of Fame, and took a stroll through one of the various One of A Kind Neighbourhoods. Children under the age of 12 got in free with each ticket.
  
  
• On Thursday, December 30, 2011, ETFO-YR members and their families celebrated the Winter Break with the performance of Disney ON ICE: Celebrating 100 Years of Magic. Participants were treated to a truly spectacular show as 65 unforgettable Disney characters sang and danced their way through 18 beloved stories on ice.
  
  
• On Thursday, January 5, 2012, our local celebrated the New Year by cheering on our hometown heroes the Toronto Maple Leafs at the ACC. The Winnipeg Jets provided the opposition in a tough affair of conference rivals. Early goals in each period fuelled the Leafs to victory. This first-class experience will be one to be remembered.
